President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site Special National Monument on Co To island vn (Tiếng Việt)

Welcome to the President Ho Chi Minh memorial site special national monument on Co To Island!

Please keep quiet, dress politely, put rubbish in the right place.
Do not arbitrarily take pictures at Uncle Ho's Temple.

President Ho Chi Minh memorial site on Co To island is associated with the event on May 9, 1961 when Uncle Ho visited Co To island and this was the only place in the country to get Uncle Ho’s permission to build his statue while he was still alive. This is a landmark of sovereignty and culture, a precious national heritage that needs to be preserved and passed on to the younger generation. Having Uncle Ho’s statue on Co To island, the people and soldiers here are encouraged to live, study and work according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to protect and preserve every inch of land and sea of the homeland.

May 9, 1961 has become an important historical milestone engraved in the heart of every Co To islander. They were even more honored and proud when the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 93/QD-TTg ranking President Ho Chi Minh memorial site on Co To island as a special national relic on January 18, 2022.

Co To was the only place in the country to get Uncle Ho’s permission to build his statue during his lifetime, showing the belief and love of Uncle Ho, the Party and the Government for the people and soldiers of Co To island district. This was the honor and pride of not only the locals but also all ethnic groups of Quang Ninh province, the Northeast sea and islands and Vietnam’s waters. The President Ho Chi Minh memorial site on Co To island was built in 1968 and recognized as a national monument in 1997. Over the years, after many times of embellishing, upgrading and expanding, the work still retains the original cultural and historical values.
